Real surname Lueptow, he was killed in a stockcar crash when the car's axle broke. His widow later married Bobby Grim and his daughter, Suzie also later married a sprint car racer. Frank, who was of Dutch ancestry, was largely based in Detroit, Michigan. In World War 2, he test drove army tanks, and once the war was over, he then worked for a tank manufacturer as a development driver. Frank then moved to Florida, where he remained for the rest of his life and developed into an excellent sprint and stock car driver.
