An Indycar driver in 2013, Tristan has raced and done well in both the US, in the Star Mazda Series, which he won in 2011, and in Indy Lights, winning the title in 2012, but also in Europe, in the new version of the F2 championship. In 2014, he moved into sportscars and continued in the discipline in 2015, in the World Endurance Championship, although he also helped Dale Coyne out at the Indianapolis 500. In 2016, he was in the Blancpain Endurance Series, but moved back to the US and the US Sportscar Championship in 2017 and remained there in 2022. In 2023, he moved to the European Le Mans Series but made a surprise return to Indycar again in 2024. Tristan continues in sportscars again in 2025. Vautier has also raced in Formula Palmer Audi and various Formula Renault series.
