Midget and sprint driver who also raced in Indy Lights, and who made an Indy 500 attempt in 2012 and then again in 2015 and in 2016. Raced for his own team in sprint, midget and dirt cars until his untimely death in 2016, when he was badly hurt after a midget crash at Belleville in Kansas, dying of his injuries in hospital shortly afterwards. Although Clauson was born in California, he was a long-time resident of Noblesville in Indiana. He won the USAC National Midget title twice, the USAC National Driver's Championship three times and the USAC National Sprint Car title twice, all before he was 25 years of age. He then added a third National Midget title in 2015 and won the Chilli Bowl in 2014. Clauson was an organ donor and Bryan's organs helped to save five lives. In 2021, a trophy in Indycar was named in his honour.
