Until 2018, Scott was a longtime expert analyser for Indycar coverage on television. However he retired from this role after nearly twenty years to enjoy more time with his family. He lives in Carmel, Indiana, having been based in the US for over thirty years. No longer drives in major series, but is still an eager historic or special event racer. In 2016, he also linked up with fellow former Indy 500 starter Jack Miller, to form a motorsport team in US junior formulae. Scott started racing in 1980 and took wins in Formula Atlantic - winning the 1986 North American Formula Atlantic Eastern Division title - CART (including twice winning the Michigan 500), the IRL and Grand-Am. However his career has not been without drama; Goodyear twice broke his back when racing in both 1996 and 2001. More recently, Goodyear is the Race Director of Formula Renault and Formula 4 in SCCA Pro racing.
