Real name Clark, he was killed in a midget racing crash. A midget ace, he won numerous Midwest titles and also worked as a mechanic. He was mainly based in Seattle, Washington and was father of four children, one of which was Clark Templeman Jr, who died in a sprint car race at Gardena in 1982. Templeman was three-time winner of the USAC National Midget Championship, winning it three years in a row from 1956. He began racing in Washington State in 1945, winning three Oregon State and five Washington State midget titles early on in his career. Templeman did well in AAA races, coming second twice. He was inducted into the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 1984.
