Did well in his home country, but also found success in the US, which is where he remained for the rest of his life. Worked as a building contractor and craftsman in San Diego, but sadly committed suicide in August 2010 by walking in front of a train. Pandur was German Formula 3 runner-up in 1983, finishing just two points behind the champion, Franz Konrad. He was still competitive in the series before his move upwards to Formula 2, driving both for AGS and Martini. He moved to the United States in 1985 and competed in Formula Super Vee, winning the race that supported the Formula 1 American Grand Prix at Detroit, Michigan.
