Touring car specialist who died of cancer. Achieved a lot of success in a long career in the discipline, although he did also race in sportscars. Peltier was the son of Albert Peltier who initially ran a specialist engineering business but teamed up with Andre Pilette to form a racing team in Formula Vee for their respective offspring's to race. Alain carried on racing for a while until the mid 1980's. Alain won the 1975 European Touring Car Championship, but also won the 1974 Spa 24 Hour race with Pierre Dieudonne co-driving.
