Sadly died, after a brief illness, in 2014. After competing in Formula 2, he then became a team manager in Formula 3, winning the 1983 European F3 title with Pierluigi Martini, and then subsequently, Formula 3000, either under his own name or by running the Il Barone Rampante team. He was a great mentor and coach for the likes of Ivan Capelli and the aforementioned Martini. As a driver, he had most success in Formula 3. Formerly ran a racing car preparation and car repair business, and later became a commercial agent for Vespa motorcycles.
