Now living in Ayr, where he is retired and likes to drive his boat when he has the chance. Formerly a garage dealer, but he remains as a director of both firms, one in Ayr and one in Edinburgh. McLaren was another Chevron regular, often in sportscars, racing his Chevron B26 to great success in the mid-1970's, winning in the British Sportscar Championship at Knockhill, Oulton Park, Mallory Park and Ingliston, to win the 1976 series. Iain also raced in the Aurora British Formula 1 Championship and the Interserie series. He entered his own Chevron to Silverstone for his only Formula 2 effort, but the engine blew after thirteen laps.
