Died after a short illness. An incredibly passionate racing man, he started racing in the 1950's and carried on until the 1990's. He was, however, probably best known as a team boss in touring cars and other categories. He set up his specific sportscar team in 1983 to run Group C2 cars, running Tiga cars. He then worked as a team manager for Nissan, Team Dynamics and Saleen in the British Touring Car Championship. Despite being very ill, in 2002, he was still working, despite confined to a wheelchair, in the USA with the Trans-Am winning ACR Panoz team. Baker started out racing speedway motorcycles at the age of 16 and moved to four wheels in the early 1970's. As a racer, he was best remembered his own sportscar efforts.
