Now a regular and successful historic racer, but has also done some development and testing work for Vauxhall in the past and now works as a full-time driver instructor and development adviser for Porsche GB. Richard curretnly races in the HSCC 1970's Road Sports Championship in a Porsche 928. Lives in Staffordshire. Attwood never really got the break in Grand Prix racing he deserved despite both a 2nd place at Monaco in 1968 and a successful time in Formula Junior. Won Le Mans in 1970 and then stopped racing in 1971 before returning not once, but twice to racing, largely in historics, in 1977 and then 1981 onwards. Richard is also a brand ambassador for Omologato watches. Attwood is the son of Henry Attwood, the former managing director of, Charles Attwood and Son who also worked with the Sunbeam Motor Company.
