Of Polish aristocratic ancestry, Potocki had a brief career in Formula 3 (notably winning at Rouen in 1968) and Formula 2, but it never really developed much further than that. Still alive and has a few classic cars and bikes at his home, and runs a business called Diesel Energie in Luce, Eure-et-Loir, which is a manufacturer of electrical generators and motors. He formed this business in 1968. Adam also keeps links with the Polish automotive world. Potocki also raced in rallying and endurance events, competing from the mid-1960's until the mid-1970's.
