Lives in Saint-Germain-sur-Marin, and is now retired. An excellent racer, he was successful in a number of formulae and also raced pretty extensively in sportscars too. In Formula 3, he had the most success in his native land, but also raced in England and Germany. Still keeps some historic links to the sport. Christian started in karts but gave up the sport due to a lack of money and became a car salesman for Citroen. Putting all his money from sales together, he bought a Gordini car on credit, entered a race at Pau, did well and the prize money helped kick-start his career. Christian retired from racing a couple of years after his Formula 2 career.
