Better known as a motorcyclist, who won his home Grand Prix race in the sport, the 1962 Argentine 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix. Still linked to both bikes and racing - he is an instructor and organiser of the Argentine Mini Challenge, but is also involved with the Argentine Motorcycle Federation as an organiser and advisor. As well as this, he appears at historic events - in both sports - in his homeland. Benedicto also restores and rebuilds vintage motorcycles. Caldarella got into the sport because his family worked with Gilera motorcycles in Argentina, thus meaning it was easier to purchase a bike for Benedicto to learn to ride, and subsequently, race. Caldarella, who was often referred to as Chiche in his homeland, also drove extensively in touring cars.
