Another driver to do reasonably at Formula 3 level; Formula 2 was more or less the pinnacle of his career, although in truth, it came towards the end of his career. Vento was entered by Luigi Bertocco to drive a Condor-Alfa Romeo at the Rome Grand Prix but doesn't seem to have raced much beyond 1967. He also drove a de Tomaso Formula 3 car and knew Alejandro de Tomaso well. Francesco also ran many businesses. He was also a huge help and inspiration to motorcyclist and Indycar racer Vinicio Salmi's early career.
