Became a Formula 1 (albeit briefly) and Formula 3000 team manager and relatively successful powerboat racer. Leoni did attempt his own Formula 1 team in the late 1980's - the FIRST team, but although it had a F1 test, it never made the grid and Leoni sold what he had to Ernesto Vita who then tried to get the Life team through qualifying. In Formula 3000, he latterly raced as a driver and team boss, some 10 years after his debut in Formula 1, and carried on running his team until 1991. He later became the manager of Marco Apicella. Now lives in Monaco and is a keen cyclist. He works in the classic car sector and helps a few friends with some tuition at safe driving courses.
