Now lives in Grandate, where he designs and produces clothes, particulary shirts and blouses and has become a specialist in ladies' fashion. The firm are also based in Milan. Walter took this up after his racing career ended, starting in the mid-1990's designing female shirts. They also manufacture their own clothes in Grandate. His shirts are a far better legacy than his racing career; Walter competed in Formula Italia and Formula Ford 2000 before becoming an Italian Formula 3 stalwart for much of the 1980's, taking race wins in 1983 and 1984. But his career somewhat stalled after that and bar a spell in touring cars, Voulaz mainly carried on in single-seaters until 1990 before retiring.
