For quite some time, until illness (which subsequently led to his death), Renzo ran a Pirelli driving school in Southern Italy. Pretty much all of his career has been linked with the firm - he began in racing as an engineer for Pirelli and ended his direct involvement with the sport as a Pirelli test driver. Renzo was very able in Formula 3, but it was still a surprise for him to win the 1975 Monaco Formula 3 race. This, however, catapulted him up to Formula 1 soon after. After losing his drive with Shadow in 1977, Zorzi raced for a while in sportscars before joining Pirelli again.
