Worked in engineering until his 80's, and was a frequent visitor to historic events until just before his death. Also worked as a car restorer. Died after heart and respiratory problems. Daigh is the last American-born driver to win the American Grand Prix, which in 1958 was a non-championship sportscar event. Daigh served as a paratrooper during World War Two and then took up racing in the early 1950's where he proved to be a very adept sportscar driver indeed. Daigh also won the 1959 Sebring 12 Hour race.
