Varied racer who appeared in hot rods, USAC and AAA events. Leon lost an eye after the crash that finished his career, after a stone went through his goggles, at New Bremen, Ohio. Later worked as a mechanic at a Ford garage, and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Sadly, in his latter years, he suffered, and then sadly died from, dementia.
