Killed in a record attempt in his native Daytona. Despite his big build, he was one of NASCAR's early stars, particulary at his home track, before moving to AAA and USAC events after a disagreement with Bill France. Teague served in World War Two as a fighter pilot. As well as racing in the series, Marshall was also the first treasurer of the series and was hugely influential in persuading Hudson to enter their cars in the series, including the legendary Hudson Hornet. He won the 1952 and 1954 AAA Stock Car Championship and his exploits in the Hudson Hornet were partially recognised - many years later - in the Disney Movie Cars.
