Davey is now the Managing Director of Kingdom Racing, which partners motorsport teams to promote religion and God in motorsports. The team linked up with Dreyer & Reinbold to enter an Indy 500 team each year for some years. Davey has also been General Manager for Meridian Speedway in Idaho, as well as being the promoter and organizer of the Supermodified Racing League (SRL), a Western-based supermodified racing series. He also runs a track in Terre Haute, Indiana. In 2012, he became an IRL team co-owner with Sam Schmidt and also runs an Indy Lights team, and a junior racing team. Davey initally retired from driving after injury led to an insurance payout, and went to work as a spotter for Alex Barron, and as a TV commentator but in 2007, made a dramatic return to action at the Indy 500, which he followed up until 2011, as well as racing in the odd exhibition race. Now, tends to only do historic racing and special events, including truck racing, which he heavily gets involved in organising, after being affected by Dan Wheldon's death in 2011, meant he decided to stop after five seasons back in the IRL and Indy. Son Davey Jr. also raced.
