Sadly died of cancer, after a long battle against the disease, in 2016. Until the onset of illness, Picko was a driver manager, team owner in historic racing, and car dealer in Sweden, but also part-ran a fish and chip shop. A very popular man, well known for his distinctive moustache, he was hugely successful in touring car racing as a driver. He stayed involved in that discipline as a team manager too, running a team in the Swedish Touring Car Championship until 2014. His main involvement was then with the aforementioned historic side of the sport, as he was also the main organiser behind the Swedish Oldtimer Grand Prix series.
