Draughtsman and designer who joined BRM in 1946 and remained chief engine draughtsman until 1962 when his boss Peter Berthon left BRM and joined Weslake. Woods followed him and worked on a number of projects, including the F 1 engines and also Weslake's Rover-BRM project. He later returned to BRM until they left F1 in 1977. He married BRM's press secretary Pamela Ferris, and moved to Scotland where he worked on the Ecosse road car. Later worked for Volkswagen, where he designed body panels and components for their road cars and camper vans. Died after a battle against cancer.
