Took over his father Reg's teams on his death in 1964. Tim was a director of both the British Racing Drivers Club and Derby County Football Club, both of which he retained involvement in until his death. Until the onset of ill-health in the mid 2010's, Tim often tried to attend reunions, mainly in the Midlands. His driving career ended upon Reg's death, but Tim remained linked to the sport for years - either as BRM team manager from 1968 to 1975, or as the manager of Donington Park circuit, or as the Motor Circuit Development Regional Director for Mallory Park and Oulton Park. Tim was initially a farmer on his father's estate before following his dad in the sport. It was at Formula 2 level that Tim was the most successful but he had started to wind his career down a little even before Reg's early death. After taking over Reg Parnell Racing, Tim incorporated the team into BRM around 1967 and then stayed with the team for almost ten years. As well as the above, Tim was regional co-ordinator for the BRDC in the East Midlands for some time.
