Riding mechanic and pre-war driver who became Alfa Romeo's team manager after World War 2 and stayed with the company until 1963. Giovanbattista was the winner of the 1930 Mille Miglia with the great Tazio Nuvolari, but is probably best remembered for his integral work with his beloved Alfa Romeo for whom he was an an engineer, racing driver, team manager, test driver and consultant from 1920 onwards until a few years before his death. His work as a test driver was vital to the development of the car that became pretty much nigh unbeatable in the late 1940's until 1951.
