Good friend of Gabriele Rumi, who was involved with many F1 teams, including Fondmetal and Osella and Benetton, for whom he worked as a sporting manager when they sponsored a few teams before taking over the Toleman team. Worked as a TV commentator and pundit and also enjoyed playing table tennis and even competed in the veterans tour with numerous championship wins. Back when he was a younger man, Palazzoli also raced motorcycles and also worked as a motor racing administrator. Died in 2023 after complications arose for an operation after a fall. He was also a long-time sportscar driver, competing as Pal Joe and also competed in the European Touring Car Championship.
