His career stuttered to a halt after a drugs scandal. However, he bounced back and ran a landscape business and a nightclub in Fort Lauderdale, and made visits to racing events. However, sadly, he died at a relatively young age in 2007. Harvey enjoyed real success in ARCA events in the early 1980's, winning on both superspeedways and short-track events, especially in Florida. He also became the first ARCA driver to achieve a 200mph qualifying run, achieving this at Talladega in 1981.Billie became noted for racing his cars in a pale blue colour. As well as the above businesses, Billie also ran a marine supply company and a towing business in Delray Beach.
