Founder and owner of Center Line Forged Wheels and Tools, one of the largest motorsport wheel manufacturers in the US, Ray stayed involved with the company he set up in 1970 until his death in 2019. The company profits allowed him the funds to race. As well as CART, Lipper had spells in Formula Vee and Formula Atlantic. Lipper was also a keen boat fan and used to compete in boat racing and rallies along the Californian coast. Amongst Center Line's biggest achievements was to be the first wheel manufacturing company to produce a modular after-market wheel for Harley Davidson. They have also produced wheels for land-speed record attempts.
