Amongst Mezger's most notable achievements are the valve-train on the Porsche Carrera engine, the first air-cooled flat six-cylinder Porsche 911 engine and the McLaren TAG turbo engine which took the team to the World Constructor's Championship in 1984, but there were many other successes. Mezger released his autobiography, Porsche and Me, back in 2010. Mezger was also involved in car design for a while during Porsche's brief foray in the late 1950's and early 1960's.
