Works as an independent engineering and aerodynamic consultant, although Heinz is no longer directly involved in motorsport. He does work as a lecturer, however, on technology and management in motorsport at the Technical University of Berlin. Previously ran a company, Grips-ID, which worked on designing, engineering and research and development. He set this up after nearly 25 years in racing, starting with Zakspeed, and also included spells at Sauber and more recently, Toyota as an aerodynamicist. Holds a degree in mechanical engineering and also has a MBA.
