Former racing driver, now involved in the transport business, near Aachen. Also enjoys car restoring in his spare time. Kauhsen's Formula 1 effort ended up being a bit of a disaster but he enjoyed a long and largely successful career otherwise; he won the 1968 Spa 24 Hours and took a number of European Touring Car Championship wins. He also ran in sportscars from 1964 onwards, carrying on as a driver until 1974, at which stage he retired to concentrate on his team management roles, which also included Formula 2.
