Nominally a car designer, with both BMW and Porsche. Still involved in both the sport and the car industry, mainly as a consultant or designer, but also works with BMW on design issues. After a rather torrid spell in Formula 1, Klaus moved to road car design, working for Ford on the Capri III, Escort and Sierra. In 1984, Kapitza moved to BMW and was both responsible for designing the E31 8 Series car in 1989, but also was in charge of BMW's design studio for a bit. Despite the car companies he has worked with, Klaus' passion has been with Alfa Romeo. Kapitza has written a book and produced a calendar dedicated to their cars.
