Worked as a businessman in the clothing industry and bought his own Duesenberg. Entered his car for at a couple of events in Westbury in 1936 and 1937, but he didn't make the race, likewise for his Indianapolis attempt, which seems to have come on the back of a lot of enthusiasm, but very little racing experience indeed. Brandfon's family left Russia due to the persecution of Jews in the country at that time and settled in the New York area, where Ben lived for the majority of the rest of his life.
