Obscure entrant of the 1913 Indianapolis 500, but his driving career, as little as it was, does him a bit of a disservice. An engineer, he invented a number of oil filters and cylinder heads and ran a garage. As well as Kentucky, he was based in Memphis, Tennessee; New Orleans, Louisiana and Erie, in Pennsylvania, where he is sometimes referred to as being born in. For many years he worked in the oil industry in numerous engineering roles, including excavation and also in design.
