Somewhat of a a mystery man, his real name was Edwin Wilbur Aleon, who was a farmer and tyre salesman. After his racing career finished, as well as working on his farm, Aleon worked for the Pierce motor company as a mechanic, before becoming a tyre developer as well as a salesperson. Aleon's greatest moment racing wise came in the 1916 Indianapolis 500, when he finished second to Dario Resta. He also finished second that year at a race in Cincinnati but couldn't sustain that success in later years. Edwin also served in the US Army in World War One.
