Killed in a midget crash when the car rolled over after he lost control at Sportsman Park Raceway. Raced in sprint and midget cars mostly, predominantly on dirt ovals. Rollin worked as an aviator and also served in the military as part of the 867 Aero Squadron. Although originally when he started racing, he was based in Toledo, Ohio, May was mainly based in Lansing, Michigan. At the time of his death, May, who had lost his wife through illness two years previously, was working as a garage foreman.
