Carried on racing until the late 1940's and then was an adviser and manager, albeit briefly, to one of his worshippers, Juan Manuel Fangio. Fangio had been brought up of the tales of Riganti's epic road racing drives in the 1910's and 1920's in Argentina, regularly competing in road races across his homeland that took seven or eight hours. However, it was on two wheels that Riganti began, racing motorcycles. Riganti drove single-seaters from the 1920's onwards, winning a number of races in Formula Libre events, before switching to touring cars in both Argentina and Brazil in the 1930's; often appearing in a Hudson car. Raoul was also a qualified engineer.
