Won the ICC Kart Championship in 2002. He prepares the karts himself, which is not surprising, as he was his own chief mechanic in F3000 and came close to starting a F1 team back in late 1997. Also works as a kart importer, runs many kart teams and schools. Also runs a driving school but drives rarely now, bar the odd kart race. Also works closely with a Formula Renault team in his homeland. His kart team have won the World Championship, but as well as all this, Wim runs Speedview, a digital print supplier to the racing industry, which includes posters, stickers, decals and racewear etc.
