Took over as boss of family run KTR in 1997, but continued driving in the formula until a Formula 1 drive was no longer a possibility. He spent another 3 years running the team in F3000 before they moved the team to the Dallara Nissan Series, Formula 3 and then in a range of Formula Renault series. Kurt continued to race in the occasional event but is now retired. He works as a race engineer for TCR team Comtoyou Racing and also is a driver coach, whilst also running his own business away from racing. He also works as WRT's co-GT programme manager.
