Killed in a nasty crash during a sportscar race at the Mount Fuji circuit. An unassuming, modest man despite coming into the sport with family money behind him, he started very young, racing when eighteen years old. Raced in his homeland of Japan, before a move to Can-Am, he raced in both Japan and Europe to try and further his career, including a hope of Formula 1; somewhat unusually for a Japanese driver at that time as they often stayed solely in their home country. Hiroshi had more Formula 2 plans lined up when he met his untimely death.
