Raced on semi-regularly until the 1990's, mostly in stockcars, but actually retired from racing for good in 2010. Still attended historic events and ran a truck sales company for many years thereafter. He also raced in short track racing, starting in the 1950's, but it was NASCAR that he was at his best, winning four times between 1968 and 1971, which included Daytona in 1970. He also won the ARCA Rookie of the Year award in 1964. He worked as a development driver for Dodge for a few years.
