The 1971 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year, Denny retired from competitive driving in 1974 to become an airline pilot with the winnings earned from racing. Started racing as a teenager in the 1950's, and was particularly adept in sprint and sportsman cars, but also raced midget cars. Now retired as a pilot, which included Boeing 747's, cargo planes and corporate jets. In a strange twist of fate, when he retired from flying, he moved back into racing as a result! He raced for a few years in a midget series in North East USA, but is now retired from that. Denny, however, races at historic events. Still lives in Connecticut. Denny keeps other links to the sport and also enjoys playing golf and going to the gym. Denny also did an interview for this website, which can be found at the below link.
