Sprint car legend. Now retired, although he still sometimes takes part in historic sprint car events. Lives in Indianapolis and was involved in real estate, and also worked as a building contractor. He is still involved in refurbishing houses. Larry started racing in 1954 but it was a move to supermodified cars in 1956 which led to the start of an immensely successful career. Dickson reversed a decision to retire in 1972 to then go on and become the first three-time USAC National Sprint Champion, won the ASA Little 500 in 1974 and appear at the Indianapolis Speedway until 1981.
