Started racing as early as 1912, but it was his spell in the late 1920's that was more successful. Marion entered his own cars for his Indianapolis foray, building the Trexler Special, which was a modified Auburn car. Trexler unfortunately had a few brushes with the law; in 1919, he was charged with knowingly receiving stolen tyres for his Liberty taxi firm in Louisville, Kentucky, and in 1940 he was involved in a car crash when, working for a car wrecking and salvage yard, drove his wrecking truck into a bus, happily without any injury.
