Until 2023, Jan was Alfa Romeo technical director, who had been in the role since 2019. Also has German citizenship. Started off as an aerodynamics graduate and has been in Formula 1 since 2002. He initially worked with Toyota and then was in various aerodynamic roles with Ferrari, Audi and Sauber before taking on a more senior managerial role in 2019. In 2024, he took over as the FIA's single-seater technial director.
