American racing legend who died of injuries from a crash in practice for the Austrian GP. Capable in Formula 1, US single-seaters and sportscars, he was one of the best all-rounders of his era. Donohue studied and qualified as a mechanical engineer before starting his career in hilldlimbing in the late 1950's. Amongst Mark's achievements were to be 1973 Can-Am champion, a 3 times Trans-Am Champion, a champion in IROC and USRRC series, a winner - in 1972 - of the Indianapolis 500, as well as being a race winner in NASCAR and Formula 5000 as well as the above mentioned series.
