Useful stalwart, who raced for over fifteen years, in a variety of events. Ardinger started at Indianapolis six times, with a best finish of fourth in 1947 and he was also a regular in AAA events, with a best finish of ninth in the championship standings in 1938. Ardinger was largely based in Detroit for the bulk of his racing career. Aside from Indianapolis, Herb was most at home on dirt ovals, but occasionally drove on road courses.
