Killed in a dirt racing accident whilst racing alongside his old rival Al Gordon. Another racer who started off in motorcycle racing, Triplett moved to four wheels as the prize money was greater. He did especially well on the West Coast of America but his Indianapolis appearances didn't really match his prowess on dirt tracks. He also excelled when racing at night was introduced in 1931 at Ascot Speedway.
