Killed during US GP practice, Bruce-Brown was one of the top drivers of his day. Having the luxury of a wealthy family behind him - eventually - Bruce-Brown had just graduated from Yale University when he worked as a mechanic for Fiat's agent in New York; Emanuele Cedrino. David soon took up racing himself despite his family sending him legal summons to stop him racing but when he succeeded in setting a new speed record in 1910, the family backed him and subsequently his performances went into a new high - winning the 1910 and 1911 American Grand Prix and then came third in the inaugural Indianapolis 500.
